Hardcore Henry Review: First person action to the max

The Hit:

Hardcore Henry was exactly like the title suggested: hardcore. It is mainly shot in first person from the character Henry's perception as if you were playing Call of Duty or Halo the whole time. This flick follows Henry being brought back from the dead by his wife Estelle (Haley Bennett) with extra gadgets to make him a soldier to be reckoned with. He is part human, and part cyborg with a few body parts replaced with metal and electronics.

We follow him escape the organization who are making these super soldiers but while escaping his wife gets captured by said organization. With just being brought back from the dead, Henry is still getting his memory back and getting used to his new body. While trying to rescue his wife, he receives help from a friend by the name of Jimmy (Sharlto Copley). There is a lot of versions of Jimmy. Not like different personalities but a lot of androids to put it in perspective. You'll have to see what I mean when you watch this movie.

Hardcore Henry is a full-blown movie shot in first person packed with action and gore all around. The storyline was good but the antagonist got annoying after awhile. The only negative thing I have to say about this movie is that with it being first person some scenes (running scenes, for example) were kind of annoying to watch with the camera bouncing around. I didn't get a headache but it was tough trying to concentrate on some scenes. Hardcore Henry is a guy you don't want to mess with and can pretty much beat up any person you throw at him, trust me.

The Verdict:
YELLOW LIGHT (Proceed with Caution)
