Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark Review: Need MORE Scary Stories!

The Hit:

An old childhood book of creepy tales brought to life on the big screen. If you are familiar with them and are excited about this, you may find enjoyment.

Cast: Zoe Margaret Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Zajur, Natalie Ganzhorn, Austin Abrams, Gil Bellows, Dean Norris, Kathleen Pollard, Lorraine Toussaint

Pros: The Creepy factor was pretty high with some of the stories and although I can't really remember most of them, and from what I do, some did nail it on the head. It reminded me of a more adult version of goosebumps but not extremely, it was more in the middle and that seemed just fine. The special effects and music really made certain scenes stand out, but that sort of element always helps out with movies of this genre.

Cons: To me, this flick was just average. Thinking about it, it could have been better if the stories were made into a mini tv series through Netflix or Hulu. For example, we only got a few and I would have liked to see more.

I know I didn't have much to say but this felt like a movie at least worth watching once but as a rental or streaming service. But if you want to go to the big screen and make your own judgment feel free. It's not terrible and it's not great, but average is still good enough.

Key Info: PG-13. Genres; Horror, Mystery, and Thriller.

The Verdict:

YELLOW LIGHT (Proceed with Caution)
