Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw Review: An Unlikely team up, to save the World!

The Hit:

In this spin-off from the Fast and Furious movies, we get two big-time characters in a head to head riot to save a certain person and the world, from annihilation.

Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, Helen Mirren, Eiza Gonzáles, Lori Pelenise Tuisano, Joe Anoa'i

Pros: We know how ridiculous these movies are in terms of reality and what is possible and what is not, but knowing that by its history, they are always entertaining. So, in turn, we get more of those scenes and it makes for a great popcorn muncher. I loved the chemistry between Hobbs and Shaw and their jabs at each other was hilarious! As of right now Fast 5 overall is my favorite in the series but this one wins in a comedic point of view. Vanessa Kirby had a big role to play as well and she kicked ass, not only is she a great actress but she made a great buffer between two big guys (one slightly bigger) with even bigger egos. I'm excited to see more of her in this story and other works. Idris Elba has been in talks in his fan base that he could be the new face to play as James bond, and from his past works, I personally think he would be great. I don't know for certain if he wants the same but I know if he ever wanted to play more villainous roles he has it in the bag. They really went all out with a great cast in this flick and without spoiling anything, there is a couple of additions who had short roles but were absolutely hilarious and I would love to see them again in more of these movies.

Cons: As mentioned in my pros, some scenes are out of the ordinary and you question them without a second thought but going into this franchise it is to be expected if you've seen them all from the beginning. It doesn't bother me but if you were a first-time watcher it might you.

This was entertaining from start to finish and although Dwayne Johnson has been in a whole lot of movies, I'm always ready for his next one. Bring on Jumanji: The Next Level.

P.s. STAY throughout the ENTIRETY of the credits, there are extra scenes.

The Verdict:

GREEN LIGHT (Go See it)
